Course Description
VISITING: Open to visitors. TYPE OF CLERKSHIP: Elective. DESCRIPTION: The 398A clinical clerkship is best described as a preceptorship. The student spends 4 weeks with a single physician. The preceptor can work Byers Eye Institute Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, or *PAVMC (*available to Stanford students). 398A can be an excellent rotation to form a more substantive relationship with a mentor. Please note: Stanford students cannot add 398A clerkships directly to their MEP clerkship schedules through the regular shuffles. After arranging a preceptor, please contact Caroline Cheang in the Office of Medical Student Affairs at cheang@stanford.edu with the faculty preceptor's name and email address to add this clerkship. PREREQUISITES: Reach out to Brooke Byron (bbyron@stanford.edu) for guidance on how to arrange a preceptorship. After a preceptor has been identified, students must obtain application pre-approval from Dr. Eubee Koo. Please email pre-approval requests to Brooke Byron at bbyron@stanford.edu.
