Exploring Fintech Innovations

Graduate School of Business GSB - Graduate School of Business

Course Description

This MBA elective explores how financial technology (Fintech) is transforming traditional financial services and driving innovation across banking, payments, lending, insurance, and wealth management. The class coverage includes but not limited to open banking, AI-driven financial analytics, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, and regulations and its technologies (RegTech).Class sessions will draw upon both assigned readings and your experiences to inform all of us of the current status of Fintech innovations around the world. Coverage will be comprehensive in the sense that we will strive to understand why the traditional financial sectors have not addressed welfare-relevant frictions, as well as the political and regulatory considerations that underpin these outcomes. Several distinguished speakers from cutting-edge FinTech companies and FinTech investment funds will join us this quarter to offer their perspectives. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to evaluate written "pitch decks" from FinTech startups, as a means of refining your own views.
