Program Overview
The Stanford Master of Science in Management for Experienced Leaders Program (MSx) is an intensive, one-year, residential course of study for middle-management executives leading to the degree of Master of Science in Management. Participants generally have eight or more years of work experience, with at least five years of management experience.

Degree Requirements
To earn a Master of Science in Management, students entering in July 2025 must fulfill the following list of requirements:
Successfully complete (with passing grades) 60 units of academic credit at Stanford University.
at least 46 must represent GSB units taken for a letter grade;
at least 53 units must be completed at the GSB; and
at least 53 units must be completed for a letter grade (not on a Pass/Fail, +/U, or CR/NC grading basis).
NOTE: There are restrictions on which University courses outside the GSB can be counted toward the M.S. degree. Current students may review the Units subsection of the internal MSx Policies & Standards for detailed information about restrictions imposed on courses that count toward the 60-unit minimum degree requirement.
Successfully complete (grade of LP or better, or +, when applicable) all MSx core courses (see below).
Achieve a cumulative grade point average (GPA) for all GSB courses of not less than 2.65.
Enroll for four consecutive quarters of full-tuition study at the GSB.
A student may place out of FINANCE 229 via the placement exam during Orientation Week but must still fulfill the Finance Core requirement by successfully completing a course from the pre-approved list below. The Finance requirement must be completed by the end of winter quarter.
