SOCIO-PHD - Sociology (PhD)

A commitment to highly analytical sociology defines the PhD program in sociology at Stanford. The program trains graduate students to use a range of quantitative and qualitative methods and data – survey, administrative, experimental, interview, direct observation, and more – to answer pressing empirical questions and advance important theoretical and policy debates.
