Course Description

VISITING: Closed to visitors. TYPE OF CLERKSHIP: Selective 1. DESCRIPTION: Consists of a 4-week rotation through Stanford adult and pediatric clinics. Designed to give students a broad clinical exposure to skin diseases. Emphasis is on the outpatient diagnosis and treatment of common skin problems and the cutaneous manifestations of systemic disease. Students are expected to attend the Tuesday morning didactic teaching sessions as well as the dermatology grand rounds every Thursday morning. Students are expected to learn how to describe and recognize morphology, to perform a thorough skin examination, and to perform basic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. PREREQUISITES: None.
