Introduction to Neuroscience

Biology H&S - Humanities & Sciences

Course Description

This course introduces key concepts and exciting research in neuroscience to students interested in how the brain enables us to sense, act, think, and remember. The course spans all levels of inquiry, from molecules to cells, circuits, systems, and animal behavior. The process of discovery will be emphasized, and students will interact in class with scientists who made key discoveries. Lectures follow the textbook "Principles of Neurobiology" written by the instructor. No prerequisites other than a keen curiosity about the brain. Contact Alina Nguyen (alina.nguyen@stanford.edu) for logistical questions. Please only enroll in the lecture section (section 01) on Axess. Discussion section enrollment will be handled on Canvas. As long as you sign up for the lecture section on Axess, you will receive an e-mail a week before classes begin to guide you on how to sign up for a section on Canvas.
