Course Description

The Futuring for Equity seminar explores the relationship between futures thinking, foresight methods, and the pursuit of equity in education. Students will engage with foresight tools (including signals, forecasting, scenario building, and design thinking) as well as scholarship committed to creating opportunities for learners, their families, and communities to thrive. Students will craft scenarios of the future of education focusing on a specific issue they wish to study. Students will also develop futures projects that serve as sites of possibility by offering innovative interventions for teaching and learning communities to imagine and plan for equitable futures. This course is open to both undergraduate and graduate students by permission only.
