Course Description

Interpretation, analysis, and simulation of nanoscale and atomic resolution experiments. Topics include incoherent and phase contrast imaging, diffraction-based methods for strain, orientation and phase, spectroscopy for chemical analysis, and 3D reconstruction. Interactive learning through lectures and tutorials. Suggested prerequisites: It is strongly recommended that students take MATSCI 321 prior to enrolling into MATSCI 327 but not mandatory.
