Experiential Learning in Medical Physics

Course Description

This course is intended to give students hands-on experience doing the day-to-day tasks performed by clinical medical physicists. It focuses on the practical aspects of medical physics, such as treatment planning and machine quality assurance testing, across multiple treatment modalities. By the end of this course, students will be able to describe and perform the basic responsibilities of a medical physicist. The concepts covered in this course will be invaluable for students pursuing a medical physics career, as well as those interested in performing translational research in medical physics. PREREQUISITES: BMP/RADO 251 Medical Physics and Dosimetry AND BMP/RADO 252 Physics of Radiation Therapy.
