About Us

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is committed to supporting and promoting effective teaching and learning across the Stanford community. CTL works to help create an environment where all Stanford educators and students have the tools and resources to succeed in all aspects of their teaching and learning journeys, and toward a vibrant culture of teaching and learning that fuels Stanford’s vision, prioritizes equity and social justice, and promotes academic well-being.

We work with anyone who teaches in Stanford’s undergraduate and graduate programs. We also work with matriculated undergraduate and graduate students in support of their learning, and with graduate students and postdocs in CTL professional development programs. We collaborate with staff and administrators across schools and programs in support of teaching and learning.

Our resources for students include academic coaching, peer subject tutoring, language conversation partners, academic skills workshops and courses, online learning tips and tools, the learning consultant program, study halls, and specialized support for neurodiverse students. Resources for faculty, instructors, and TAs include course and curriculum design institutes, teaching with technology, teaching grants, individual consultations and feedback on teaching, the graduate teaching consultant program, TA orientations, and programs and workshops on specialized teaching topics.
