ENVSE-MIN - Environmental Systems Engineering (Minor)

Since undergraduates with varying backgrounds may be interested in obtaining an Environmental Systems Engineering minor, no single set of course requirements is appropriate for all students. Instead, interested students are encouraged to propose courses within the guidelines below.

General guidelines are:

1. An Environmental Systems Engineering minor must contain at least 24 units of coursework not taken for the major and consist of at least six classes of at least three units each of letter-graded work, except where letter grades are not offered.

2. The list of courses must represent a coherent body of knowledge in a focused area and should include classes that build upon one another.

3. Preferably two quarters prior to graduation (and at latest by the Final Study List deadline of graduation quarter), the student must complete a Major-Minor & Multiple-Major Course Approval eForm, available on Axess under the Student tab. Once submitted, the form will be reviewed by the School of Engineering, your major department, and the Registrar; you will be notified of any issues.

4. Minors must be officially declared and all courses completed (or in progress) no later than the deadline for a student’s application to graduate.

Professor Peter Kitanidis (peterk@stanford.edu) is the CEE undergraduate minor advisor in Environmental Systems Engineering. Students must consult with Professor Kitanidis in developing their minor program and obtain his approval of the finalized study list on the CEE Environmental Systems Engineering Minor Program sheet and email to the CEE Assistant Director of Degree Progress.
