Program Overview
For a PhD minor in Geophysics, students must take a minimum of 20 units of graduate lecture courses at the 200+ level or higher in Geophysics (of which 15 units must be letter-graded). Students must submit a PhD Minor application, which must be approved by both the Geophysics and the major departments. The student declaring a Geophysics minor must have a program advisor who is a Geophysics faculty member. A PhD minor program proposal is due the first quarter the student has declared the Geophysics PhD minor.
