TRANS-MIN - Translation Studies (Minor)

Undergraduates who complete the minor in Translation Studies are expected to be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes: 

1. further linguistic proficiency and textual understanding through the production of a translation. 

2. consider the linguistic, historical, social, and cultural contexts that shape textual production and meaning.

3. consider the practical and theoretical issues brought up by translation as an aesthetic, cultural, and ethical practice. 

4. develop a self-reflective understanding of the critical processes necessary to translate a text. 

5. critically evaluate and compare translated texts.
