Program Overview

The minor in Urban Studies introduces students to several disciplinary approaches to the study of cities and provides the opportunity to explore one of five specialized options:

  • Global Urban Culture and History

  • Race, ethnicity, and urban life

  • Urban education

  • Urban society and social change

  • Urban sustainability

The minor in Urban Studies requires completing seven courses for a letter grade, including the four core courses, the required course in the student’s chosen concentration area, and two additional courses in that option as listed in the Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies listing.

  • The required concentration course

  • Two courses from concentration course lists outlined in the Bachelor's in Urban Studies listing.

Cannot be duplicated with core coursework.
