Program Learning Outcomes
The department expects undergraduate majors in the program to be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes. These learning outcomes are used in evaluating students and the department’s undergraduate program. The department aims to educate students to be artists and scholars who:
Research, interpret, and create music in an informed and thoughtful way
Are literate in fundamentals of music, aesthetics, and historical thought
Can engage in musical and scholarly discourse
Are sensitive to cultural and historical perspectives in thinking about music analytically and critically
